Musk made it even worse. Now you can't embed someone's Twitter timeline either. I used to have embedded tweets from the NHC on my front page. That doesn't work now. I just removed it from my page.
I'll email Jim, but for now his Twitter embed is still on the front page at HurricaneCity:

When they Tweet, their Tweets will show up here.
Well there is, Elon Musk just doesn't want to show people unless they hand over their personal information and create an account. Since it's not publicly accessible any longer, this is going to create problems he hasn't thought of. If a company wanted to share something on Twitter, like a publicly traded company, I don't think they could unless they shared it elsewhere too. Musk already had legal issues in the past with tweeting things about Tesla. He's going to create some new problems for himself.
I was going to suggest to you that you could create a feed here:

But Twitter broke itself. That no longer works for embedded feeds. I tried Googling his Twitter feed but couldn't get it to show recent tweets. Bing has an old cached version that doesn't have his recent tweets.
I have to login to Twitter, go to his timeline, save the URL to a tweet and then I can embed it here. For now. If Musk quit allowing that he would truly end Twitter.

I was looking for a way to post just the most recent tweet, but I don't think that is possible any longer. You have to login, pick the tweet and then you can embed that particular tweet. I have multiple Twitter accounts, but I often just don't want to bother logging in. I'll have to remember not to post links to Twitter profiles though. Have to embed individual tweets for everyone to be able to see it.
Once a true competitor to Twitter emerges, many people will ditch Twitter. Musk is just daring someone to develop a competitor to him. Many people don't want to be a part of his empire. There is just no where else that has the amount of people Twitter does and does what they had done previously. Hopefully something better will come along that everyone will hop on to. |
