Re: Getting into impressive territory ...

one we have been in a period of extreme activity much like the 1940s and we are used to more going on

some years storms were not named that should have been named, sometimes an area is real borderline and old school tended to wait without the incredible wealth of websites and imagery and data for recon and if it fizzled just before recon got there or they couldn't find it... it wasn't upgraded

and i am older than some here, that is not an arguement on GW but just the way it was... saw systems that looked for 2 days like strong tropical storms that did not get upgrades.  NHC used to be a little more old school.. back in the hickory stick days ...

we are very spoiled now days, during the move i came across old, old papers printed out in 1995 from weather services, inc with little dotted plotted charts that SNONUT provided on the old AOL boards and rambling posts on the Palm Beach board lol and we were soooo excited to have the AVN in 1992 ... and as Brian Norcross has joked in a meeting once I was at "It was the AVN for God Sakes" and he was very happy to have it back in the days they wanted to write off Andrew

our minds cannot comprehend the massive period that history is, we live in such a bang, bang, shoot em up sis boom bah era where if we get bored for a second during a commercial we scan 20 channels at least before going back to the show.. if we bother and send five text messages out and check facebook in the scan of a commercial that years ago people watched

our sense of history is NOW and it amazes us...

It is impressive don't get me wrong but it's a pretty simplistic equation... when you have a good strong, funky El Nino it washes out the deadwood a bit and from our point of view this is one mean season... a year from now or two we won't believe we were so bored.

Someone has sent two facebook posts on this board at least and changed their status while I typed this post.
