I am not intimating that this season won't have one ballistic storm that obliterates an area.

The more interesting point was that since the "active cycle"  allegedly started in 1995, most years have jump-started in that time span.  In the 15 years of seasons, this season is already the third latest start out of those 15, with nothing on the horizon likely to be named.  Third out of 15, that is later than 80 percent of the seasons during that period.

That was the more interesting point I was attempting to make.  Secondarily, if we do give credence to the belief that an El Nino is rearing its head, there is a direct relationship and correlation with 1998 and 2004 (the later starting years), as both of those years were considered to be El Nino years.
