As Skip Wiley posted earlier, there was a measured 200 mph surface wind gust found by a dropsonde so the SFMR estimations seem to have done well. These research missions are great to have for research and since other nations don't invest in recon it's the only way to get the best readings. (assuming the nations in the path use the data which does not always seem to be the case) |
