Some of TN has had heavy rain too. On at least one day there was some schools closed due to it around where my grandparents live in south central TN. I have a lot of family there, some who live in the hills near streams. I guess authorities did not want them venturing out and risk getting caught in flooding. My grandparents bought a house many years ago that often flooded, but they didn't know that when they bought it. (They successfully settled with the previous owners.) They were also able to have a large drainage ditch around the house to divert water off higher land to the north of them. They said they had never seen so much water in that ditch with all the recent rains. If it was not for that, they would probably be more flooded than ever. Luckily they have not flooded since the water was drained efficiently when the ditch was built.
