Bobbi   I can tell you around the second or third week of August leaves on trees near the Suwannee, FL had started to drop.

In my area the same thing I had leaves on the ground.  I can tell you one year our leaves did not start dropping till January; I think it was 2007.

I can tell you June was hotter than normal, July was cooler than normal, August was mixed up but if felt cooler to me at the end of August; September is cooler.   I agree with B-Low & chucky.
