Re: Telemedicine or Urgent Care!

I'm sorry that it's just one thing after another. It's horrible.

As cypress said, get Paxlovid. Don't just see if you're better, get it Monday. I don't really know how Covid goes, if you can get better slightly and then have it get worse again. Since you're taking other medicine, and have been, it might mask some things, I don't know. You may feel better, but aren't as good as it seems. Don't take a chance. You are at higher risk so you need it.

My insurance has telemedicine and I have used it before. I found it relatively simple. I didn't get a prescription filled so I don't know how easy that is, but if you don't feel well enough to go out, definitely do that then. And if that doesn't work, then still go to the doctor. Or rather as POCTX says urgent care. I don't know if a primary care doctor is the one to go to. Definitely call first to see if they want to see you in person, will give you a prescription or if they want you to go to urgent care. You need it Monday, so if a primary care doctor needs to see you and can't Monday, go to urgent care.

You're supposed to get Paxlovid within 5 days of symptom onset, so don't wait.

I should also note to you and others, also about time for the flu shot. I'll get mine sometime in the next several weeks probably. I don't want to get it too early and have it wane more by later in the season.

A week and a half after I visited a family member last month in Alabama, one of her kids got Covid. Then I think she did too, but never heard whether her test was actually positive. It wasn't serious for them, in part because they were young but also lucky. I was wearing a mask around them as I was only there for half an hour maybe. (with kids going to school or around other kids I wear a mask around kids for sure) It's hard to wear a mask when you are actually staying at someone's house. I couldn't last month when staying with family. I do find it abit hard to breath wearing one for a few hours. I spent over two hours visiting my great aunt in Tennessee and several times I had to take it off for a moment because it was getting harder to breath. I don't officially have any breathing issues, but sometimes air quality can bother me and I use an air purifier. Wearing a mask for a long period does get to me a bit, but thankfully I usually don't have to be around people for long periods of time. For most people though, you do have to be around people constantly. It would be nice if for those jobs where people could work from home that they continue to be allowed rather than forcing them to be around people. It would help the virus spread less for those like you that have to work around people.

Those that aren't up to date on their shots should get the latest vaccine. Should be an updated one out soon. I wish everyone could get them on a regular basis. I would get one right now again if eligible. Now that you've had Covid you should hopefully be good for awhile after recovery, but at some point you'll want to get another booster too. But first I hope this part of all your health troubles is over with soon. And the skin cancer again too.
