I don't know enough about it. It's had such a large size and I would think that's part of its slow development. Over such warm deep water perhaps it finally had the energy to start matching its size?

I heard elsewhere on another forum it might have been partly impacted to the NW by the area that moved south of Florida a few days ago. (and is now west of Nate moving into Mexico)

Maybe that moved far enough away?

Then again, it's also being less and less impacted by the Yucatan too.
