Re: Snow in Jax.............on FL GA Line??

Winter finally arrived in Tampa, for a few days, but nothing frozen near here. In fact, some of my plants are very confused. I have plumeria putting on new growth. They lose all their leaves for the winter and now a small amount of them, especially over the canal behind my house, are growing new leaves. Despite the vast coldness over most of the country, much of Florida isn't so bad. But if Jacksonville were a little bit closer, I would have made an unscheduled car trip today.

It was 83/71 Saturday and 59/37 this morning here in Tampa. From a record tying high, with record setting high minimum temperature, to some below average temps, though not near record cold. I'm just so glad the humidity is gone. I opened my house up and the humidity went from 79% to mid 40%. I shouldn't complain about the warmth lately, I had a friend in Maine who was complaining near Christmas of no snow and temps in the mid 50s as highs. He will not reach freezing this week and hit -9F with a -20F wind chill overnight. I'm still not sure if there is snow, maybe a little, but if I had a choice between two extremes, I would not pick that one. Florida is just fine. (I can always crush some ice and make a snowball.
