Just talked to my sister. Tremendous amount of rain because the storm is moving west very slowly.
No power but the phone system seems to be holding up.
Word has it that part or all of the main airport roof has come off.
The storm was at 61.1 this morning and @ 2000 tonight it is at 61.7. It
has moved from 13.1 to 13.5. As you can see it is pretty much sitting
on top of them. Winds were at 90 with gusts to 115. Looking at the
satelite pictures St Vincent looks as if it about to get a lessening of the
rain and possibly SLU in a couple of hours. However to the east of Barbados
there is a larger rain field. Given the westward speed look for some
tremendous flooding and possibly landslides as the ground continues to
saturate when that moves west.
