You were right Jim!

Well Jim, this is just to let you know that I take my crow grilled with some blackening seasoning and a little BBQ sauce on the side!

I took you to task for once again calling for further activity this season--three more named storms, I believe you predicted--and I have to say that I am absolutely floored by the amount of activity we are seeing as we head into the first week of November. Utterly astonishing.

Tomas is to me a marvel on the order of Wilma. Never in my life have I seen such a gorgeous, classic-looking Cape Verde-type system move west into the Caribbean like it's the middle of August--on Oct. 30, for crying out loud!

We are witnessing yet another truly historic season, one that has not gotten as much play as the dreadful 2004-2005 period because the states largely have been spared the wrath, but this is now without any doubt a season that has earned its place among the more infamous seasons we've seen in the past decade. I looked at the loops this morning and I just can't believe my eyes.

Nice call, Jim. You're the man.

I will be keeping Haiti in my thoughts and prayers as we watch Tomas nervously over the next week.
