It's nice to have a variety of organizations doing stuff like this, from government, to for-profit and not-for-profit. It ensures we will continue to have data. When Jeff Berardelli, the local chief meteorologist here for the NBC affiliate profiles various climate related stuff, I think about how it's nice to have all the climate data around, including observations from space.



In other space news, a small piece of something jettisoned from the ISS might have landed on a house in Naples, Florida:

This was a kind of planned thing with a supposedly low risk of hurting someone. There's a lot of debris up there, more and more, but this wasn't that it seems. Maybe they'll be a bit more cautious next time.
