I got almost two and a half inches of rain yesterday

Yesterday I got almost two and a half inches of rain in a short period. My street flooded some. It's gotten that high a couple of times that I've seen. I live right on a canal off the bay. The water goes into the drain and drains right into the canal. They didn't look to be stopped up at the entrance to them, though maybe they are clogged further in the pipe. But it shows that sometimes too much water comes down and it can't drain fast enough. My area should drain extremely well. Imagine areas with poor drainage, no drainage or with any kind of elevation funneling all the water somewhere.

The water had come down a few inches it appeared or that Amazon truck might have got a little bit of water. By the time the other car went through, it had already come down more. (an ordinary car likely would have had an issue at the peak water level) In waters like this we have had cars stall before at the front entrance to our neighborhood which has the same issue during really heavy rain.
