City & island rankings completed to include the 2016 Atlantic hurricane season. Highlights from this years list, top ten remains the same. Biggest gainers Beaufort & Georgetown ,South Carolina both move up 7 positions ranked 27 & 32. Jacksonville,Florida cracks the top 50 with hits from Colin, Hermine, Julia & Matthew . Jacksonville has as good a chance at being affected by a named storm as Nassau Bahamas but Nassau has far more hurricanes. Sydney Nova Scotia has as good a chance of a named storm as south Miami Dade but most of them are extratropical in nature. Cape Cod ,Massachusetts drops out of the top 50. Least affected area remains Central & southern Nicaragua most affected Cape Hatteras,North Carolina. I also toyed around with the numbers to see if there has been any change to the return rates since 1975 when most experts claim global warming took off. If anything less frequent return rates for example in Cape Hatteras the most affected area in the basin from 1975 on has seen a decrease from 1.3 years to 1.5. http://www.hurricanecity.com/rank
