EPA banned from providing updates on social media and talking to reporters

"The Trump administration has instituted a media blackout at the Environmental Protection Agency and barred staff from awarding any new contracts or grants.

Emails sent to EPA staff since President Donald Trump's inauguration on Friday and reviewed by The Associated Press detailed the specific prohibitions banning press releases, blog updates or posts to the agency's social media accounts.

The Trump administration has also ordered a "temporary suspension" of all new business activities at the department, including issuing task orders or work assignments to EPA contractors. The orders are expected to have a significant and immediate impact on EPA activities nationwide.

The EPA did not respond to phone calls and emails requesting comment Monday or Tuesday."

From lies about crowd size, to conspiracy theories about millions of illegals voting, the "alternate fact" reality we now live in is a whole new world for this country. For the next four years, anything science related, along with anything else, cannot be trusted out of this administration. This has nothing to do with party politics, this is just how Mr. Trump wants it and people within his administration are not willing to stand up to him as they need to.

A climate and health conference was postponed, more likely canceled in the end, simply out of fear before the new administration got in there:

http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/23/politics/cdc-climate-conference-canceled-trump-administration/

"The Centers for Disease Control postponed a summit scheduled for next month on climate change and public health ahead of President Donald Trump's inauguration, participants and the CDC confirmed Monday."

[...]

"While the Trump administration did not directly cancel this conference, Benjamin said, it bears the hallmark of his influence.

'They ran this up the flagpole a few weeks before the Inauguration,' Benjamin said of the conference organizers. 'They were afraid that the Trump administration would cancel it and it would create all kinds of political headaches for them.'"

Trump wants to cut 75% or more of regulations. On what, no one knows:

http://www.npr.org/2017/01/24/511341779/president-trump-to-cut-regulations-by-75-percent-how-real-is-that

If you were to say that maybe food regulations are important, to get 75% or more, I'm guessing anything environment related would have to be gone. Not that the 75% number is real, but it's clear cuts are coming to important environmental regulations. Other science programs can't be far behind.

What's next? If Trump is sticking with some of his crazier claims, then maybe he does believe global warming is a hoax, like when he said "The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive." in a tweet on November 6th, 2012. Science and simple common sense is under attack right now.
