7.8 earthquake in New Zealand, localized tsunami of 8.2 feet (Sunday, Nov. 13th)

Occurred at 6:02am EST Sunday on the south island.

7.8, depth of 23km according to USGS.

Aftershocks are occuring.

A localized tsunami occurred. 8.2 feet in Kaikoura. (A town with around 2,000 people. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaikoura)

Wellington, the capital with 400,000 people, on the southern end of the north island, had 1.4 feet as of posting.
