Cypress, Those are great images showing how the cruise lines are giving a wide berth to the hurricane. I've been in the Navy for just over 28 years now (mostly out of San Diego) and whenever I was on deployment in the western Pacific it was inevitable we would be directed to get the heck out of the way of a Typhoon. I've been through heavy seas before on small ships and it is not fun. I think we all learned a valuable lesson with El Faro last year during Joaquin and I suspect all of the shipping/cruise line companies will be especially prudent this time around. So far, it looks as if that is the case. |
