The shear out ahead of this thing looks brutal to me. No surprise there. That has been the pattern all season and for years now. I think we are about to watch another system that would have become a significant cyclone in a better upper-level environment instead fight a losing battle against shear. I feel like the tropics have been on "rinse and repeat" mode in this way for years and I see that playing out again here. Look at what's happening to the higher cloud tops on the western fringe of the system this morning on any loop. Blown away.

Hopefully it steers clear of Haiti/DR so we don't see catastrophic flooding there. No matter how weak this thing remains, the threat of devastating rainfall somewhere in or around the Carib. will always be there.
