It's been awhile. It was not until later that it was added into the live system.

Those links have since changed:
ftp://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/data/raw/so/sofx01.kwbc..txt
http://hurricanecity.com/recon/recon.cgi?page=decoder

Unfortunately I never was able to get Air Force data in real time. And the place I got it delayed is no longer available any more either.

In the recon archive at HC:
http://hurricanecity.com/recon/recon.cgi?archive=1

There is a section called "Airborne Expendable Bathythermograph (AXBT) Data".

NOAA doesn't release data too often, but you can find all the data for the year there:
http://hurricanecity.com/recon/recon.cgi?basin=al&axbt=2016

It's also associated with the mission it came from, if possible.

About the AXBT and how it appears at HC:
http://hurricanecity.com/recon/recon.cgi?page=tutorial#axbt

And just an FYI, this error/security message:

"Click here to view the AXBT diagram for this observation on our site.

The AXBT diagram cannot be viewed within this info window. For additional security, some browsers may also require you to copy the link and paste it into a new browser window before the diagram will load."

Happens because the Cesium display displays data in the popup from the Google Earth file in a sandboxed iframe. Plugins, like Flash that I use to display the sonde and AXBT diagrams, cannot run in that. I might lift that restriction eventually. I didn't have success trying that previously. I might lift the restriction in cases where outside data, other than from elsewhere in the recon system at HC, cannot be run in it.
