99L and similarities to pre-Katrina

| I am noticing striking similarities between the evolutions of these two systems. By no means am I saying that this system will be another Katrina but the evolutions or lack there of are very similar to this point. Both basically moving along the same track Katrina struggled out there as 99L is currently. She became a depression somewhere in this area but then was downgraded a few days later to a tropical wave and was very disorganized until in the central Bahamas area where she developed. A similar scenario may play out with 99L where not much is forecast to happen until possibly later in the area of the Bahamas while following an eerily similar track and circumstance. |
