Re: Atlantic non-tasked mission

There just happened to be a variety of different non-tasked missions today. (missions not tasked by the NHC) Three Air Force aircraft (2 south of New Orleans and another headed NE across the S.E. U.S.) and then there was a NOAA P-3 doing a training mission over and west of South Florida, which gave me the opportunity to test if the radar feature was still working on my site. (It wasn't, but now it is.)

I'm not sure what the Air Force does a lot of the time on non-tasked missions. They train too I guess, but they might drop sondes for models sometimes too. They do winter missions on certain tracks, but I don't know about other types of missions.

Unfortunately there is a lot going on in the Cesium display. There's several megabytes of code that runs. You could try 2-D mode if it lags while you are using it, but I don't know if that would help. Switching from 3-D to 2-D might be worse than staying in 3-D. But once Cesium is loading a KML file every 5 minutes, once I get that part done, it might just be too much for older systems. Maybe by later this year I might finally have the Google Maps version done. (Just 2-D.) Some of what I am doing now with Cesium is partly how that system would work, so maybe I might finally get to it at the end of the year.
