Re: Some video of the rain so far today

There has not been much of an opportunity recently, but along the barrier islands he might get video of some nice waves if he goes. I have seen that on the local news for previous storms. There are a lot of low lying areas around the coast too. It just doesn't take much to start flooding things in this region. Low level neighborhoods off the Bay and low lying neighborhoods in South Tampa where rain just can't runoff fast enough. There will be lots of that kind of flooding there if we get around the rain forecast.

We hate wasting water, so as long as our pool doesn't go too long without water, that's what we do. Although to run the pool below the skimmer my dad uses a pool hose and does it through the jacuzzi somehow. When the pool starts getting full he'll unblock the gutters so it hopefully doesn't run over and spill out the chemicals in it.

The airport gusted to 35 mph. It was a little breezy, but then again when a gust front comes through with a thunderstorm we get that kind of wind. The water level is elevated. In fact it seems pretty close to the level of the sea wall in the neighborhood next to me, when I zoomed in down the canal. Our seawall is a bit higher, but at the level of the bottom of the dock next door to me. We will likely see it come over the seawall I would think. It will be pushing up water into the bay for a long time. Tomorrow I might go out to the front entrance and see how it is doing. See how flooded it gets. When the tide comes up, the fresh water can't runoff into the canal. You can normally see the tide level in the storm drains at the front entrance to my neighborhood. When it comes up, it starts spilling salt water. Then the rain can't go anywhere so you just get a lake along the street and golf course that people can kayak down, filled with salt water, fresh water and whatever you want to call the water in the pond. Technically, I should never be walking in the water, for various reasons.

We had a downspout fall off which I forgot to mention. My dad went out and put it back up. That is why there is water running into the rock outside the window. It didn't rain too hard, but it just happened to fall off.
