Longest streak without a tropical cyclone worldwide

The planet just went 23 days without a tropical cyclone anywhere.  The last storm died out on April 24, and a new one has formed and been classified today, May 18.

It got me to wondering, just what is the longest streak of days that the planet has (in recorded history) ever gone without a classified tropical cyclone?

I know that between April and June, the transition of seasons in the hemispheres causes 10 and 12 day stretches of nothing, but 23 seemed very high.
