high tides

It seems to me our tides have consistently been above average this fall/winter, by maybe a foot.  I live on the Gulf in North Florida so I can look at the water several times a day.  I also look at NOAA's tidesonline website and more often than not water levels at Apalachicola are 1 or more ft above predicted.

I have not been able to find anything online that discusses this, has anyone else observed or read about high tides?  Could just be my imagination, but I don't think so.
