I love the Himawari 8 imagery you posted the other day.

It would be nice to have something as good as that on our side. (that updates very frequently)

I still love the SSEC site:
https://realearth.ssec.wisc.edu/
For satellite data worldwide. It's not as often as other products (except for some visible imagery which is often) but it has a nice display and many options.

It is neat to have satellite data where there are no jumps. Every few minutes, even 10 minutes, and small scale things can be more easily viewed, such as an eyewall of a hurricane. Half hour NOAA imagery on the SSD site:

East:

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/east/
http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/east/wfo/

West:
http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/trop-epac.html
http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/
http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/wfo/

Is a long time to wait when you consider other things available worldwide. Sometimes you can get more rapidly updating GOES imagery, but something constant would be nice.

I look forward to the day when there is a display like the SSEC one, but with very quick updating imagery. And the ability to go back in time years with that kind of saved fast updating imagery. (you would need a lot of storage space!)
