Storm size is a big calculation in that, so I guess the wind field might be a little bit smaller in some aspect, at least in the way they calculate things.

They seem to use recon data in part. So if the wind field data on passes by recon change, perhaps shrink some, maybe that is the reason it went down. (Not simply hurricane force wind, but tropical storm wind too I suppose however far out it extends.) Or, I do see some missing data on those images too. So maybe that could also be a little bit of the reason? I don't know. |
