I loved the cone from Mexico to Maine. I make that joke sometimes to friends, as a joke, if they ask me about where something is going. I agree about Erika, they did mostly okay with the cone in the end, especially from the start position to the end position. I just would have liked discussions along the way at least covering the continued westward progression rather than only talking about how the forecast reasoning has not changed and about an expected turn that keeps not happening. If even the NHC doesn't cover that well, other meteorologists might really be unlikely to talk about it to the public. (sometimes when it really matters

Already I wish more mets would read the discussion first and then talk about it on air, rather than simply trying to be first to read just the latest wind speed and show the latest track. The NHC discussions usually have a lot of excellent information in them, often about uncertainty, such as more or less than usual, for track and intensity. It would only take them an extra five minutes to read it.
