I wasn't sure how fast the snow can be melted. I know they dump it where they can, like parking lots, but with so much snow you would run out of room very quickly. I was thinking you could get rid of it near a waterway, but I guess if there are large sewers that is probably enough to handle the amount of water that can been melted.

I don't know why so many people get stuck on roadways in some places. I can understand new people or visitors being confused, but other people should know to make preparations in advance if they have to go to work. Stay at work if you absolutely have to work. (I'm sure emergency services do that.) I'm not sure what laws there are when it comes to employers forcing people to come to work. (especially if you can't stay at work) Obviously so many businesses do not need to be open since there should not be very many people out. Emergency services and some infrastructure needs to be open, but people should have done all shopping beforehand. People should have food for a week or more. (not counting anything that could go bad if the power goes out, though unlike a hurricane you might just be able to stick it in something outside) Make sure to have enough water. (although if you really had to you could always go to your front door and get some)

Looks like NYC might be better than the weekend forecasts. Earlier models having it a bit further offshore were likely more correct. It's still very close right now though. But eastern Long Island and into Boston are definitely going to have lots of snow. Looks like NYC is getting back into it right now.

I'm watching Jim live right now. I see the neighbor across the street from Fred out shoveling the driveway.

He's talking about the Juno hashtag on Twitter. Thankfully the current top two things on Twitter are:

#blizzardof2015
#Snowmageddon2015

Maybe the fake name was trending earlier. And of course blizzard the word is fine:

I always chuckle with the TWC's naming.
