Some areas with an estimated 6 plus feet of snow and counting. The record for the most snowfall in 24 hours in the U.S. may have been nearly matched or even exceeded. It was exceeded based on an unofficial report I heard on the news, but it probably can't be verified. I have a recommendation to people around Buffalo and other places like that with lake effect snows. Don't drive in the region when a few feet of snow is predicted. You may or may not be unlucky enough to get the worst, but there is a good chance you might just get stuck somewhere. I still can't believe so many people got caught on roadways for over a day! I'm sure there are some people who will get caught that don't know any better, but for the locals, they really should know better. Buffalo itself wasn't bad, but you didn't have to go far for the extreme snowfall totals. People should be home more worried about getting snow off their roofs. And people should always have more than three days worth of food at home. I saw a report on the news about someone who only had that much food and the plows might not arrive by then. Only having three days worth of food is not planning ahead.

Everybody come to Florida! I know some Floridians complaining, but for everybody else from the north you would feel great. 61 as a high today and 41 as a low here in Tampa. Around 80 by the end of the weekend here with a low near 70. Who's jealous?
