Hurricane Sandy in 2012 was the last major hurricane. (Early on in its life.)

Reconnaissance is on its way to the storm and will give a better idea of intensity. If they got there before the 11am and found the winds not as high as they think, or the satellite presentation gets worse, it might be revised back down in the best track database. Officially from advisories, it is still 110mph. The NNW eyewall looks to be eroding some on satellite in recent frames.
