There's no question that the current frequency of troughing along the east coast will tend to deflect any system coming across the Atlantic north of the Lessor Antilles, however there could be a window now an then in September???.... east coast hurricanes from Florida to New England in these types of years, get hit when the storm is entering the western Atlantic as a trough is departing an several days of ridging returns....

Another way to the US would be via Caribbean being pulled up across the Islands or further west into the gulf. There's still plenty of season left.... keep in mind that nothing coming off the African coast so far is strong. There weak an don't increase until they get to 50-60 deg long... In my opinion this keeps the threat, as they're able to continue west without recurving...
