I know this is not funny what I am about to say but hear me out on this and those that live in Florida should take heed and no I'm not trying to jinx anyone, just an observation from 10 years ago. In 2004, the South East, and well South Carolina in general was hit by a major ice storm in Feb 2004. That year, the state of Florida was hit with 4 hurricanes, it is now 2014, The South East was not only affected by 1 major ice storm, but two this late winter, one in Jan and one in Feb which was the worst and many people were without power. How were the winters up North in 2004? Were they closely similar to this year? All I can say is this, and this is just my prediction for this season, The US will probably see similar activity to the 2004-2005 season. I was on deployment in 2004 during hurricane season and had heard about what Florida went through, and I'd hate to see it happen again. BTW, here is my most fav picture from the Feb ice storm I took.  |
