Someone explain this baffling sat image please !

Our temps have been near 32 for eons for daily highs... and all of a sudden we got a strong arctic front roll through and our temps jumped off the cliff to 9 with a windchill of -9. At the time of this image.. temps in Toronto on the lake shore were 10 with a windchill of -2. So why would there be cloud cover over everything but Lake Ontario .. and a smaller lake called Lake Simcoe, and to small extent Lake Erie. Is it just because the Lakes are so much warmer then air (about 30-31)? also... this is a screen shot, and hence a non-updating image.
