Igor Versus Maria For Impacts on Newfoundland

Posted by chriswx on 9/16/2011, 7:44 am

Hi There,

I'm just curious if the consensus here is that Maria could be worse or better than Igor for its impacts on Newfoundland?  The local radio station in Saint John's is saying Maria will be "nothing like Igor".  However, it looks like this time Saint John's will get the east side of this storm and the winds are currently 80 MPH.  They were 75 MPH in Igor.  So, does anyone here think Maria will have greater impacts on this area?

They didn't seem to have much lead time for warning in Newfoundland.  Hopefully they all prepared.

Chris
