2010 landfalls with regard to Belize

Belize takes the cake with 4 landfalls:  Alex, Karl, Matthew, and Richard.  That is amazing considering its corner location lodged between Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico.  With only approximately 500 miles of coastline, it had 4 more landfalls than the U.S. (Bonnie).

Total landfalls for Belize in the last 10 years:  (4) - Arthur 2008; Chantal 2001; Iris 2001; and Keith 2000.

In one year, Belize has equaled its landfalls for the last decade.

Total landfalls for Belize since 1980 (excluding this year):  6.  the 4 previously mentioned plus Gert 1993 and Hermine 1980.

Astounding.

So 2010, when calculated against that number produced 67% of the Belize last 30 years of landfalls, and 100% of the total hurricane landfalls (Iris 2001 versus Richard 2010).
