| That area is very active. I can remember some of the geothermal features in New Zealand that I saw when I was there about 11 years ago. I can't remember how close they were to Christchurch though. I was taking a look at Google Earth and noticed Christchurch had a lot larger buildings than I remember. I was not there long though.
