Not fake, but farm crawfish. They've become much more numerous in recent years, primarily because they allow for an earlier start to the season. They are raised by rice farmers (rice growing in shallow pools of water) where embryonic crawfish are also embedded allowing for the usual earlier start to the season. Wasn't that way when I was young, when all crawfish came from the wetlands or basin. Do you like crawfish, Bobbi?
