This advance in the timing of the warning should give news reporters content at a time when local residents may need one last word of advice to evacuate before all hell breaks loose.

If the forecasts of larger, but fewer, hurricanes remain valid then people may be lulled into a false sense of security between storms only to find themselves trapped by larger squalls.

Additionally, the US should put up another satellite like Quikscat if we expect to keep up the quality of our tropical storm forecasts, IMHO....

The issue of investing in public satellites may be more politically expedient shortly after a major storm makes landfall, I don't know.
