in many parts of TX, it's been mandated that utilities now use surface water, because of the floodplains lowering from over-use of groundwater - not sure how they can police private wells, though? Was browsing for news stories on this - they really are everywhere, I would be quite po'd if I lived in the sinkhole area - what's someone supposed to do when their home drops into the earth & is deemed unsafe??? hope everything works out for you.
