| Actually, if you fill in your street address, state and zip code, on the FEMA map link and hit enter... it will take you to the miniature flood zone map of your location. It is difficult to read since it is so small...hence the 'pay to view' ploy. But if you look at the upper right above the map, there is an area labeled "scale" which is set to 4%. If you change it to approx. 12% and hit "go", it will enlarge it enough for you to read the flood zone letters for your property...at least it worked that way for me. Play around with the viewer scale and perhaps you can read it too. If you change the % too much larger, your property will no longer be within the map parameters, so just increase the % as little as possible to be able to read the flood zone letters. |
