I hope I'm not jumping the gun but i don't see Erika developing until early Septemeber. The whole tropical set up for August has been an ideal defense for anything trying to hit the US. Alot of ULL'S, dust, trough alignment, el nino, and a weak Bermuda. These are all the ingrediants for some weak hurricane stew in August.
We had Ana who had a chance but because of the increasing shear,small stature and run in with the islands she was toast. Bill lucked out and caught a favorable environment but kicked a field goal between Bermuda because of a weakness in the Bermuda High. Some home brewed Claudette had some good conditions but but ran out of time before she could have become a cane. Dennis seemed to suffer a stroke from an ULL and was un able to use his left side.
Anyway I know it's still early but the point is there's alot of obstacles out there right now these storms need to get through to be a serious threat. |
