"I had never heard of Accu wea? before coming here as well Tiny.  We all know the true weather authority for Louisiana will always be Nash Roberts.  It makes sense though that a weather shock jock would hang out on Faux News."

Bateauxdriver, we had a great weatherman here on the local NBC but he got tossed with the rest of the established on-air staff for a bunch of rookies. Money first, customer service second eh? I hope you don't soon suffer the same fate. Nash Roberts sounds like a winner - you and friends might send a note to the station just to voice your support. Better to be proactive than reactive in case your local TV management gets any cutback ideas.

As for Bastardi being a "shock jock on Faux News" - may I bestow on you an intellectual battle ribbon? You defined in one sentence what so many (including myself) would have used paragraphs to do. Sharp, insightful, you nailed it kiddo.

By the way, my best friend in the Air Force (35 years ago) was a Louisiana kid. Bright, open-minded - he loved music and crayfish (he'd pop the heads off 'em and drink the juice - aack!)

I'm not a country boy by any means - so my first experience living in a small town was my time in Biloxi at Keesler AFB in 1972 where I went to school to learn strategic air defense systems. I saved my money and on weekends would hitch-hike my way to New Orleans where I always had a great time. I liked New Orleans so much, it was on my "top three" list of places to move to before I left Maryland in 2003. Another choice was Florida in general - but in the end, I opted for Wilmington, NC (based on research; climate, census data, distance from family and friends, etc.)

Well, before I get into writing a book on this - just let me say thanks for your refreshing post.
