| I was 10 years old sitting in my bedroom in Ohio listening to WWL coming in loud and clear. I recall them asking something along the lines of sending a letter somewhere if you found their coverage of value - and I did - although I don't think they were looking for letters from 10 year-olds in Northeast Ohio. This about 6 weeks after the July 4, 1969 series of thunderstorms in Northeast Ohio that hit right at dusk while we were are the fireworks - one girl was killed by a falling tree running home. Those storms and Camille made me a weather geek. |
