Ana's 850-500MB Vortex

The degeneration of cyclone Ana, was not a surprise. Her rapid forward speed and lack of inner core ingesting dry stable air during the last several days would hinder any strengthening and result in her demise.

However, her vortex remains strong through 500mb and sufficient deep layer moisture/unstable air surrounds her environment. Where things get intersting is when the vortex emerges over the southern bahamas over an area of high oceanic heat content and a retrograting and weaking ULL. Global models move an weaken the ULL WSW and decreasing SW shear over the bahamas.

Finally, should her vortex emerge as stated it should generate enough convection for a possible reformation; especially if the vortex moves NW and stays away form cuba. I know this is a long shot with her current appearance, but I see the possiblity.
