A cat 3 (I hate the term major hurricane with an intense burning passion as all hurricanes are dangerous) would be incomprehensible. Even a 2 up in New England is a disaster
Thanksfully, Gloria weakened significantly from its peak (was down to a 1 south of Hat, briefly regained cat 2 when it struck Hat, though Hat barely had hurricane force winds, and again weakened to a 1 at landfall on LI) |
