1) The Mid-Atlantic Blob

Agreed that there is a lot of inference in the Walker Cell theory.

It would be very helpful if there was a derived Satellite product that would generate vertical wind-speed and direction plots.

That would then reliably and unambiguously ID updraft and downdraft zones.



2) For the Up-coming African Wave

A big area of strong LL vorticity on the coast.  It will take a while to consolidate.

However, it does have a broad anti-cyclone.

Considering all that LL vorticity, SAL isn't looking too bad.
