"The Hurricane" 1937

Pretty good old flick with a solid hurricane scene at the end. Haven't seen it in over 20 years though. Lots of dramatic effects (and the movie was made back in 1937!) They're in the Carribean, and upon hearing of the approaching storm, the female lead asks "Do they get pretty bad around here?" lol he-he. Then as the storm begins you get windows and unsecured shutters beginning to bang in the background (increasing suspense). As the storm begins in earnest, people gather at the church as the large bell clangs ominously in the terrific wind, signaling perhaps the end of the world. Finally, the locale is swept clean by a giant tsunami-storm surge. Since the movie was in 1937, it may have been inspired the by the Labor Day Storm of 1935?? Jon Hall plays the lead ( I do remember that.) He was in one of my favorite old television shows way back when called "Ramar of the Jungle".
